We partner with multiple payroll providers to make it even easier to manage your 401(K).
When you connect your payroll account with Guideline, we’ll receive your employees’ information automatically so we can manage the day-to-day administration of your plan. The employee information we receive includes, but is not limited to:
- Full name
- Email address
- Date of hire
- Employment status
With this information, we will:
- Send enrollment materials to eligible employees
- Onboard participants
- Communicate important plan information
- Conduct annual compliance testing
Once your payroll account is integrated with Guideline, any information updated in your payroll account will sync on a nightly basis with your Guideline account. This means that many changes to roster information in your payroll software will automatically transfer to your Guideline roster; employee deferral elections in Guideline will will automatically sync with your payroll software; and payroll reports will automatically sync to Guideline without any additional work on your part.
When your payroll and 401(k) are integrated they are constantly sending information back and forth. This means that if you want to make an update on your payroll—like run payroll outside of your normal payroll schedule—you can do so without needing to notify Guideline. Our “always on” integration ensures your two accounts are in sync.
We rely on payroll integration to ensure smooth administration of your plan. If your company plans to change its payroll software, it’s important to let us know as soon as possible so we can help connect your new payroll software and avoid disruptions to your 401(k) plan.
