For New Clients:
If you do not have an existing 401(k) plan, you may implement a new Safe Harbor plan up to October 1st of the plan year in which you set up a new plan. If you would like to set up a Safe Harbor plan with Guideline, we recommend initiating plan setup prior to the Safe Harbor deadline. If you’re ready to get started with a hassle-free Safe Harbor plan, contact our plan administrator support team and we’ll get you started!
For Existing Clients:
If you have an existing Guideline 401(k) plan and are interested in adopting a Safe Harbor matching provision, your plan may be amended to be Safe Harbor effective January 1st of the following year. Keep in mind that participants in your plan must be notified of the upcoming Safe Harbor change 30 days before the Safe Harbor effective date, so contact us to allow adequate time for the preparation of plan documents and notices.
