How do I sync my Guideline account to a third-party financial management app?

If you’d like to track your Guideline retirement account in a third-party financial management app, like Wealthfront, Quicken, or NerdWallet, you can do so easily and securely using a unique system-generated password.

System-generated passwords add an additional layer of security by limiting third-party access to your actual Guideline login information and data.

How to access your system-generated password

To retrieve a unique password for your personal financial tracking accounts, click on the drop-down menu under your name in your Guideline dashboard. Access the Account settings page, then go to the Financial app access section and click the "View password" button.

When your financial app asks for your login details to connect your Guideline account, simply enter the email used to log into Guideline and the system-generated password.

Using this information within the third-party app will not affect the actual password you enter when directly logging in to Guideline.
